One child says “It’s chocolaty.” The second child replies “Hershey’s chocolaty.”

Chocolaty was likely a key word meaning this produce does not contain any real cacao and they don’t make it anymore, but now they have a mix that says its real cacao.

Nestlé Hot Cocoa Mix was also on in the 70s, but I don’t remember it. It’s on You Tube, but Hershey’s hot cocoa Mix is not on You Tube so this one is purely from my memory. Considering I did not like what they served to me as chocolate as a child, its amazing a remember this product at all, because I never tasted it. I did not like chocolate until as an adult I tired gourmet chocolate with real cacao.

I do remember “Tea Tea Nestea Iced Tea” but I don’t remember the rest of the lyrics. A woman dives into a pool at the moment in which the song comes to a climax at the end of the commercial because she is so refreshed.

I watched so much television, I learned to tune out anything that I did not like and forget it. I focused on the commercials I liked and remembered them. But, I lost that ability after I was able skip commercials and now my commercial tune out powers are rusty.

The commercials in the 70’s were not about buying or wanting the product, most of the time they were about the catchy jingles. The one commercial where did want the product was a doll called shopping Sheryl that came with a shopping cart that you could fill with stuff. But most of these commercials I never wanted or used them. The jingles and commercials are art for art’s sake when they fail to sell the product they are promoting.
